Based in the beautiful Esk Valley surrounded by great walks from our doorstep just south of Edinburgh, we provide a bespoke service caring for your little dog while you are away.
We are Cheryl, Harry and Sam Loney and our wee dogs are Sprocket and Indiana.
Happy Home Dog Boarding was created when we realised the importance of home boarding where you can meet the people who are going to be looking after your dogs. You'll able to see where they will be staying and meet our dogs to see if they get along offering you complete peace of mind while you are away.
As proud humans to two gorgeous little dogs we understand how hard it can be to leave them and recognise through experience the relief when you leave them in good hands, after all, they are valued members part of your family.
How we care for your dog
While staying with us they will be part of our family too, in a loving home environment getting all the attention they deserve. We have excellent walking opportunities right on our doorstep and love a sofa cuddle after our walks. We can even do a professional dog photoshoot whilst your dog stays with us, which is a perfect gift for family and friends!
Our aim is to keep things as stress free as possible for both dogs and humans. Cheryl has worked with dogs professionally since 2012 and volunteers weekly at the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. After a lifetime obsession with dogs (having been refused one of her own as a youngster) Cheryl is making up for lost time by working from home full-time as both a dog photographer and running the home boarding service with husband Harry. He is a freelance writer who also works from home, providing marketing know-how, puppy cuddles and witty banter (apparently).
We both love dogs and value them as irreplaceable family members. Eventually we would like to have a small holding near the sea where we can provide amazing beach walks, hydrotherapy and expand our already thriving home boarding service.
...otherwise known as Sprocket and Indiana, are our resident dogs and have hugely inspired us to work with dogs! We love them so much and can only hope the feeling is mutual. We have had both from pups, they are extremely well trained and socialised wee dogs who love proving people wrong about their breed.
They both love to run free, play zoomies and swim. Sprocket is our eldest at ten years old, he mostly loves people and food (potentially not in that order). Indiana is five years younger than Sprockie and is more like a Border Collie trapped in the tiniest Cavy body. She LOVES people, their dogs, their food and has so much energy that I began agility class with her once she turned one and we haven't looked back. Sprockie began agility training with me at nine years old and is loving the quality one - one time.
They are our inspiration for Happy Home Dog Boarding.
